A 15,000 m2 Destination Spa, comprising wellness ‘marketplace’, clinic, spa, club, treatment complex with integrated 130 key spa hotel. The development is located within a dense suburban environment with limited green and open space.
To counter this the building is conceived as a ‘garden oasis’ and takes a circular form with a landscaped garden in its center, all guest rooms look into the garden providing a unique and special experience. Public amenities are arranged as a series of pavilion structures within the garden, with planted meadow roofs with local wild flowers.
The form of the building provides an efficient operational and planning model, whilst referencing both the existing geographical landforms and the traditional form of southern Chinese Hakka’s or walled villages.
